Founded in 1981, Riverfront Recapture manages, maintains, operates, and activates four riverfront parks and their connected riverwalks and trails. Riverfront Recapture’s mission is to connect people with the Connecticut River and, in 2024, the organization welcomed 945,000 visitors from across the region and connected them with 452 acres of public green space and 178 free public events.
Riverfront Recapture is at an exciting moment in its history. In 2024, the organization announced the master plan for a new 60-acre park privately owned and operated by Riverfront Recapture. This future park will allow the organization to transform vacant riverfront land into a thriving, resilient community space that connects the community with nature, enrichment, and entertainment.

To ensure Riverfront Recapture’s long-term financial growth and sustainability, the Director will assess the financial viability of all prospective programs, identifying and implementing opportunities to maximize revenue generation through events, programs, and other initiatives.
