Company Overview

COCO is a nonprofit organization located in Cheshire, Connecticut. Founded in 1978, COCO has been operating for over 30 years. COCO provides meaningful employment and social opportunities in the community for adults with developmental disabilities primarily through day programs. COCO currently serves approximately 70 individuals who reside in Cheshire and the surrounding towns and employs a workforce consisting of approximately 15 full time and 10 part time employees. COCO’s programs provide contracted work crews to approximately 50 local businesses in the community. Our programs and operations are funded primarily by the State of Connecticut Department of Developmental Services (DDS). We also receive certain funding from intermediaries. In addition, COCO finds it necessary to raise additional funds to support its programs and operations. As such COCO will sell services to the community and rely on donations from fundraising efforts. COCO is governed by a board of directors consisting of 12 members. COCO has nonprofit and tax-exempt status. COCO’s operations are currently conducted in a leased 5,500 square foot one level facility located in an industrial park on West Johnson Avenue in Cheshire. COCO’s operations are dependent upon its fleet of approximately 10 vehicles most of which are customized to transport work crews and participants.
