Company Overview
NHHR’s mission is to promote the independence of women and children confronting homelessness, HIV/AIDS, and behavioral health issues in a supportive environment where their potential can be realized. It is our goal to work with women and children on addressing the causes of homelessness and advocate to remove any barriers to housing. NHHR accomplishes this goal by displaying local and state leadership on the issue of family homelessness.
Our programs provide emergency shelter and supportive housing to women and children, including over 90 units of family supportive housing. Additional services provided include: food, clothing, behavioral health services, case management, and housing location.
Company History
New Haven Home Recovery, Inc was established in 1990 as a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency, by the Reverend Rosalie Richards, in response to a critical need to shelter women with dependent children. During that time, shelter services were available for adult women and men in New Haven, but no one had addressed the needs of women with children who were homeless.
